Abstract

The Moyal formalism of quantum mechanics is developed to study the semiclassical Heisenberg dynamics. The phase space formulation of quantum mechanics provides a natural framework for analyzing the classical limit. Cluster WKB methods are employed to derive systematic corrections to classical mechanics through expansions in powers of Planck's constant. The approach yields explicit formulas for quantum corrections to classical observables.
